The 10th International Tourism Mart (ITM) for the Northeast area will be held in Aizawl, Mizoram, from 17th November to 19th November 2022. It is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in collaboration with the Tourism Department, Government of Mizoram. The goal is to draw attention to the Northeast’s tourism potential in both domestic and foreign markets.
Today, a three-day mega event to highlight the northeast region’s tourism potential and promote interaction among government organizations, the business community, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders will be launched in the Mizoram capital city of Aizawl.
G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and DONER, Pu Zoramthanga, Minister of State in charge of the Mizoram Tourism Department, Pu Robert Romawia Royte, senior government officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Northeastern tourism ministers, Northeastern state governments, and leaders of the tourism and hospitality associations will all be present for the three-day ITM event.
While a lively demonstration by state tourism departments from the Northeastern region will feature the tourism products of respective participating states, including Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and Assam, ITM will also witness the presentations being made by the individual states on their tourism potentials.
The site has been decorated with colorful posters showcasing the eight northeastern states as top tourist destinations. There are slogans on the posters ranging from “Awesome Assam” to “Land of Jewel – Manipur” and “Mesmerizing Meghalaya” to “Land of Dawn-lit Mountains – Arunachal Pradesh.”
There will also be business-to-business (B2B) events where buyers from all regions of the country will have one-on-one meetings with vendors from the northeast. Additionally, an exhibition showcasing gorgeous handicrafts & handlooms will be held to highlight the tourism-related goods of the several participating states.
The Northeastern States alternately hold this International Tourism Marts. In Mizoram, this market is being hosted for the first time. The event has previously been held in Kohima, Imphal, Shillong, Tawang, Gangtok, and Guwahati.
