The Taj Mahal, a popular international tourist destination in India, has been placed on alert following a recent rise in coronavirus cases in China and other countries including the USA, South Korea, Brazil, and Japan. The District Health Information Officer for Agra acknowledged the Covid alert in the Taj Mahal.
The health authority in Agra is reportedly testing samples of visitors to the Taj Mahal for the coronavirus, especially those who are travelling from other countries.
The district health information officer advised that because domestic and international tourists go in great numbers every day to see this world-famous heritage site, they will need to get a Covid test before entering.
In Agra, the health authorities have also prepared COVID testing at the airports, bus stops, and train stations. About this, Agra’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. AK Srivastava said that there are enough reasons to prepare and take precautions given the alarming reports about the surge in COVID-19 cases coming from China, the United States of America, & Brazil.
The official added that between 500 to 1000 samples are examined every day at various places, including the testing center at the district hospital, and that efforts are being made to increase this number, if necessary, in the future.

According to data updated on December 22 by the Union Health Ministry, 185 new coronavirus cases have been reported in India. Just one day after the nation recorded 131 infections on Wednesday, there has been a modest increase in cases.
Mansukh Mandaviya, the union’s minister of health, urged all members of parliament on Thursday to assist in raising public awareness of the pandemic and the necessity to stay cautious.
