This festival ran for several years at the exact same location and time.
In 1999, Uttar Pradesh Tourism requested that the World Yoga Festival be held at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh. The meditation and yoga lessons, as well as other programs, were held at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, with participants staying at various hotels and ashrams.
Pujya Shri Swami Veda Bharat Ji led the festival’s early meditation classes, while Yogacharya Shari Bharat Bhushan Ji led the yoga asanas session. Since its start, the Yoga festival Rishikesh has gained enormous popularity, which continues to expand with each passing year.
