According to the data presented in Lok Sabha, the market capitalization of IRCTC is increased to Rs. 61,976 Crore (as on 31st March 2022) from Rs. 11,644 Crore (as on 14th October 2019) in the last three years.

Calculating the market capitalization of IRCTC in USD, it is approximately $7,747,000,000, while the GDP of Bhutan is (in $) $2,528,007,911 with a difference of $5,218,992,089. Similarly, the GDP of Barbados is (in $) 4,673,500,000 with a difference of $3,073,500,000.

On the other hand, the GDP of Fiji is (in $) $5,061,202,767 and the difference between the market capitalization of The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited is $2,685,797,233.

A brief about IRCTC:

Located under the Ministry of Railways in the Indian government, the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) is a public sector organization. To promote Indian tourism both domestically and internationally, the IRCTC was created on September 27, 1999, as the top organization of the Indian Railways.

According to Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, in Lok Sabha during the winter session, Revenue during FY 2020-21 has reduced drastically as compared to FY 2019-20 due to travel restrictions imposed during Covid -19 by the Government of India. However, after the restrictions were lifted and cooked food began to be served in trains from FY 2021-2022, the income started to rise again gradually.
