As part of its expansion strategy for its intra-city helicopter services, FlyBlade India, a joint project between Hunch Ventures and BLADE Air Mobility, Inc., will be connecting Bangalore International Airport to the Hosur Aerodrome.
The airport’s first Helicopter flight will leave in the morning, and the last will leave in the evening. The purpose of this route, according to the urban air mobility business BLADE India, was to make it simpler to travel between both north and south Bangalore.
Cost, Timings, and Operation Details:
The trip from Hosur to the airport typically takes at least 3 hours, but with BLADE’s Helicopter services, it will finish in only approximately 20 minutes. Bookings for this route are now being accepted on the BLADE India website, and it started its operation on 11th January 2023. Every weekday, the on-demand service will cost INR 6000 per person.
Additionally, BLADE has expanded the number of daily flights between its helipad near the airport and the city center, now operating three flights per day from 8:45 AM to 10:30 AM, with return rides operational between 3:45 PM & 5 PM.
What the Managing Director of BLADE Has To Say:
In the upcoming months, it is our goal to make Bengaluru well-connected via the air with a variety of landing points within the city, Electronic City & Whitefield being on the list. Hosur is a buzzing cluster of IT and manufacturing industries as well as MNCs, according to Mr. Amit Dutta, Managing Director of BLADE India.
He also added that spending up to three hours driving on a little business trip can be inconvenient and counterproductive considering how many corporate travelers and locals alike must travel both domestically & internationally for work. When given the option of a short 20-minute trip or a 3-hour drive, business travellers favour efficiency over expense.
About BLADE India:
By providing affordable air transportation alternatives to some of the busiest or most difficult-to-access ground routes, BLADE India fulfills its purpose of reducing travel friction. It does this in collaboration with partners including AIRBUS and Eve Air Mobility.
These collaborations set for a future equipment exchange between conventional helicopters as well as electric vertical takeoff & landing (eVTOL) aircraft. In accordance with the earlier this year established partnership between BLADE India and Eve, up to 200 eVTOLs would be supplied to India by 2026.
eVTOL aircraft will operate more cheaply and with less noise and environmental impact. This progressive equipment change will eventually lead to lower costs for flyers and more possibilities for landing zones. Launching in Bengaluru in October 2022, Urban Air Mobility functioned as a trial run.
In November 2019, BLADE India launched its first flights between Mumbai, Pune, & Shirdi in Maharashtra. Since then, BLADE has launched two more services: BLADE Anywhere, a personalized charter service, and BLADE Care, a bed-to-bed air medical evacuation service. It has also extended its scheduled by-the-seat helicopter services to Coorg, Hampi, Kabini, and Goa.
